Wigan FA Cup post-match thread

Great away support. Just one of those nights we couldn't score. Very poor goal to concede. Way too many players not at it tonight in terms of quality. Lots of effort and possession. Just one to forget.

Frustrating way to go out, controversial reffing, no ambition from the opposition to score, then a poor defensive error gifting them a win.

Wigan defended well but didn't deserve to win that - but that's what it's taken this season for us to finally be out of a competition; sadly you can't win them all.

Looking at it again, it was more stones to blame than Walker. Just stood watching Griggs run past him.

Both to blame but stones again costing a goal. Shame because he was brilliant befor his injury but has come back nowhere near the standard needed

That was fucking awful by us. We can blame the ref all we like but we were extremely poor tonight. Sloppy all over the pitch, simply not good enough.

After ten minutes you just knew it was going to be one of those nights. Slow, sluggish, the ball not running well on the surface, players below par then the sending off. Abysmal goal to concede why walker let's that run under his foot is anyone's guess. If you are at 60% in these games you lose and too many were. Hard to take against s team of clogger's with eleven men behind the ball to our ten but that's football. Can the arsenal game be switched to the weekend of the quarter final now?
