6 Nations 2018

High tackles have too much potential to cause skull, neck and spinal injuries, you can't tackle without binding (taking full control of body weight). Same reason you can't dive in two footed over the ball in football. Penalty tries are seven points, always have been.

Not quite, you used to have to take the conversion, though it was a gimme in front of the posts. They did away with that a year or so ago in favour of the 7 points. The yellow card was a bit harsh given it only ended up high due to the dive for the try line, but meh, it's a decision and not the reason England lost or anything. A bit unlucky maybe, no more.

Did you see the double red card for the joint spear tackle in the U20 England - France game? Well done referee.

As for the Six Nations, Ireland are worthy winners, and it won't do England any harm to get a boot up the arse at this stage.

Aware it wasn't deliberate, but a high tackle is a high tackle, you can debate the yellow card possibly but not the penalty try.
Didn't see the u20s incident, do you have a link? Good to see they're cutting down on it at u20 level, Cronin got away with a blatant one on a Scottish player yesterday.

Agree that it's only the yellow that's debatable rather than the penalty try. As I say, not overly bothered, it was a little unlucky, nothing more.

Here you go, it's a shocker. Check out the French player's reaction on the left of the ruck as you look - he knows exactly what they've done:

Fucking hell that's shocking, it would have been easier to clear him out legally ffs. 6 months to a year ban hopefully.

Yep, they're in a lot of trouble for that. Very fortunate there was no injury.

I like the tweet though: "how to lose a match with style. Double red card. France always innovates". Lol

Fuck me that is landing those 2 in a world of shit and rightly so.

England yesterday got what they deserved, fuck all after a penalty strewn horror show.

It was if the breakdown was something all 15 players had never seen or experienced before?

If Jones can't get them to play within the laws of the game then we are in big trouble and its like we have gone back 30 years with the tactics all of a sudden.

Poor.

Credit to Ireland whose attacking play alone deserves the Grand Slam this year.

Had that argument in the pub last night with someone complaining about the decisions. What crap, it was refereed well and he was completely consistent. If you're constantly on the wrong end of the same decisions, that's piss poor and not listening or learning.

This. The ref was consistent with both sides and he would have briefed both sides all week as to what was expected so absolutely no complaints.

Look we are a very very good side that has had 2 horrible performances but the quality is there, we just need to put the brains into the performance.

Jones needs to find his leader because its that what is missing right now.

That's why I don't think it's the worst thing going forward. A reality check, just in case they were getting carried away. England ARE a very fine team, but they aren't the finished article by any stretch. These defeats will do them good.
