What was the stadium capacity though?
What was the unemployment rate in Merseyside then?

Liverpool's militant labour council of the 1980's was practically at war with Thatcher's tory government.

Juve have 2 European cups,so you're equating their annual qualification for the CL as being a bonafied european giant and winning leagues every year in 2nd gear in a awful uncompetitive league.

They don't have the european cup pedigree yet,2 is the same as benfica porto and forest,Inter Milan have 3 European cups and juve trail them as italian winners of the European cup.

Real madrid (12 european Cups)
AC Milan (7 European cups)
Liverpool ( 5 european cup)
Bayern (5 European cups) won 3 in a row 74,75,76.
Barca (5 european cups)
Ajax (4 European cups) won 3 in a row. 71,72,73.

Those are the elite bonafied giants of european football and that's why these clubs wear the Uefa badge of Honour when they play in Europe, win it 3 years in a row or win it 5 times then you get that elite european status.
Barcelona were a giant elite club of Europe when they’d won 0 (ZERO) European Cups which completely goes against everything you say. They are no bigger a club now as they were in 1992. Their stature as a club has not changed since winning a further four. Still the same.

Real Madrid have won 7 (SEVEN) more European Cups than Barça, but they’re not a bigger club, they’re not a more feared club on any stage at any level in any competition than Barça.

The old European Cup winners are looked upon with far too much grandeur. Don’t forget, winning the European Cup before 1992 meant you played just three rounds before the final and in some cases even got a fucking bye in some rounds! What a fucking joke!

That’s why Juventus are looked upon as a much bigger club than any of the other Italian clubs. Because in Italy they know that the European Cup isn’t the benchmark.

They have been a giant club for 60 years, they were a giant club in the 00s and they’d still only won 1 (ONE) European Cup until Pep took them on. Their stature as a club has not changed since winning a further three or four. Still the same.

Not sure mate but their highest league crowd at home that season was 45122 against United and their lowest was 20746 about a month later against Watford.

In the European Cup, they played Odense in the first round and for the home leg they pulled in a not very impressive 14985.

In the League Cup they played Brentford in the 2nd round. The 2nd leg at Anfield drew a crowd of 9902. The same night, City - we were in the 2nd division at the time - played Torquay in our 2nd leg at Maine Road and the attendance was 14021.

This is proper ‘istree’ you dippers. It’s not just a list of trophies won.
