Though in this year, like that year, the title will be won in April

These type of pro rag articles usually appear during CL weeks, there was a spate of them when they were not in the competition and we were. It's the rags PR doing what they are good at.....fooling the masses.
your right, its exactly this kind of stuff the scum twats feed off and you can actually see them empowering themselves with this information to tell anyone who is remotely interested , its all pro rag crap that the paper its in is hoping for 650 million hits or people buying to read, i am just gobsmacked that rational people read this and absorb it in thinking its relevant, every person on blue moon knows the rags have a bigger fan base, they are the biggest club in england by a mile but honestly who gives a flying fuck ?? they are still the same vile disgusting club they have always been

BBC Gossip column right now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip

7 references to the Rag's, and no references to City. Even the reference to Edin Dzeko doesn't say "Ex Manchester city star....", but you can bet that if it were a negative story, our name would be all over it.
Why are you going to a gossip column to get some decent journalism about us? Come on here, we have more up to date gossip about the club than any modern journalist could ever dream of finding out

How is that relevant?
We are talking about player of the year.If KDB comes second, that still is a good achievement.
At the end of they day, who cares who gets POTY? It's not like its a ballon'd'or.

Sorry, but City fans do. This will be our third league title, yet likely not to have any players have their individual performances acknowledged.

Now, Salah has had an exceptional season, but he's won nothing domestically. Not even come close.

City, it's players & managers have been grossly overlooked when it comes to personal awards.

Salah & Kane have had very good seasons. But De Bruyne and Silva have been the most influential players in a record breaking team. Arguably the best one season team the league has seen.

On SSN website now. 3 headlines:

"How Many Calls do refs get right?" Image: Pep arguing with ref.
"Red Cards Would Stop Dissent" Image: Sterling arguing with ref.
"Sin-bins Almost Certain in Football" Image: Sané arguing with ref.

It's like nobody else ever says anything out of line.

Second place isn't too bad is it? It still is noticed

DeBruyne and Silva should be no's 1 & 2 in the Footballer of the Year awards, with Salah 3rd. KDB and Silva (with Fernandinho mentioned in dispatches) are quite simply the reason we are a PHENOMENAL and UNPRECEDENTED 16 points clear at the top of what is nominally the most competitive league in World Football. They dominate and conduct game after game, non-stop for 90 minutes, week after week, against the best teams in the division as well as the also rans (Kev individually utterly destroyed both Chelsea and Spurs) and their brilliance going forward is matched only by their fantastic defensive contributions. Two years ago, Kev would give up if a player went past him. Now he thinks nothing of hounding opponents to death like (and you may appreciate the reference) Ian Rush, who was the best defensive striker I've ever seen, in his pomp. Even deep into injury time the pair of them are still at it like navvies. Salah's had a brilliant season, with a fantastic scoring record, but DeBruyne in particular has been on another level entirely, elevating City to a position where we might genuinely be considered the best team on the planet. If he doesn't get the award it will be a complete travesty

Makes one wonder if Sky has an agenda!

I literally just logged on to post in this thread about those exact ‘neutral’ articles using pictures featuring City staff interacting with referees.

And people don’t think SSN and others have an agenda.

Now, it could be that their SEO and content engagement analytics shows that more people consume articles with implicit references to City (our fan base is growing AND our main rivals’ fan bases are still extensive and hate us with such passion they will read anything remotely related to us, especially when it implies we are the personification of supreme evil in the world). Or it could be that they want to perpetuate said narrative to build the said engagement. More likely it is a little of both, working to intensify each other.

But there is an agenda, at least in the choices of those “capture” photos for those articles, as there is absolutely no reason all three need to feature City.
