You can still go for a drink in there when there’s a gig on as the stage is upstairs.

On a sadder note, landlord Andy Martin passed away recently so that’s the driving force in that place gone.

Yes you.can have a drink in there when a gig is on but it wasn't open at 5 or 6pm (or even 7pm) was my point

One to consider if they are into the ales are the brewery taps from Cloudwater, Sureshot etc. Think they are around Sheffield Street. They aren't well known places but are really good and the beers are too classy and brewed onsite. I think it's a pretty cool place and will definitely impress anyone who likes their ales. The bars are pretty ramshackle but in a cool way.

Also the Mayfair Depot is pretty much across the road from Piccadilly.

Sureshot is the bar I was going to recommend
