Most Christmas songs are, however, by their nature fairly twee and saccharine.

These get my vote Jim.

Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt
Fairy Tales of New York - Kirsty McColl & The Pogues
Away in a Manger - Any reception class from any school (but particularly the tape of my daughters!)

None, can't wait till the bollox is all over, people with a skip on wheels full of stuff like the shops are shut for a month, starts in october in the shops and goes on forever, but then I am a miserable ****

A Spaceman Came Travelling, every time, for me

Original Band Aid next

Greg Lake, third

My take on the subject of Fairy Tale Of New York

Decent song when it was first released
Played regularly by radio stations but never given LEGENDARY status by those in the know
The contravertial lines were then bleeped out by politically correct radio stations a few years ago, so, those in the know suddenly shout "It's a legendary classic, how dare you", and it's been put on a pedestal, eversince
