The Green End in Burnage was an awesome pub. Some great characters in there.

Boarded up now. Would make a good development site situated, as it is, on the very edge of the Heatons with a lot of land.

we went in the Blind Beggar in Bethnal Green after West Ham one year and it was a theme pub selling Kray tee shirts behind the bar,the landlord was milking it for all it was worth,the black cab driver was telling us how he used to know the twins etc etc,what a load of bollocks! we took the piss in there,had a great night out around Bethnal Green/Whitechapel area its full of bearded little leftie twats these days,all the real Eastenders have fucked off to Essex,very few of the old school boozers left these days,used to love going in the ones in Elephant and Castle on the Old Kent Road when i was down there in 1989/90,the Thomas a Beckett and Henry Cooper and some others who's names escape me,fuck me they were propwer boozers full of South Londons finest

I went in a boozer on the Old Kent Rd. called the Bell.I was living in London and had headed out straight out after work to watch City in the League Cup.
I was sat in a quiet pub but as it got nearer to kick off it began to fill up with some right fucking loonies;the old bloke to my right probably saved my life when he told me to put the Evening Standard up the right way.

its fucking mental round there mate,i remember in 89 when i was on Mikey Williams(RIP) coach going down the Old Kent Road en route to Millwall and thinking i was going to die as the windows went in,i think the driver of the coach ended up in hospital,some very tough estates around that area of London with some mental boozers full of villains

snooty Fox was a guddun, bouncers fighting with the bands, remember one band from Huyton that had the whole place in a brawl. Loved that place

The kings Head, Near the Hydes Brewery, Moss Side had a huge dog and when the window cleaner was cleaning the frosted glass windows the dog jumped through the window and pinned the window cleaner to the floor. Bloody terrified me that dog

Where the fuck was The Kings Head?

The Talbot/ Roots was just behind the brewery. That wasn't it was it?

The Kings Head was on the end of Harpenden St, opposite Trojans lol. Hydes brewery was our back st

I'm just giving up now.

I can't even think where Harpenden St is and I lived on Woodhead Close, which must have been virtually the next street up going off where you say.

I beginning to wonder whether I've just imagined the whole thing and I didn't ever even live round there.
