I just wanted to highlight for anyone interested in my biography of Joe Mercer that a kindle version has been made available via amazon. This doesn't contain all the colour & b/w photos in the hardback edition, but it does have the full updated narrative from the 2010 edition of the book (rather than the 1993/94 edition - I updated it quite significantly in some sections, most notably Joe's Everton career, his time at the APTC, his City years and the years and legacy since his departure from the game and his death). Further details at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joe-Mercer-OBE- ... th+a+smile

If you are interested in buying it (either kindle or the hardback edition), it's probably best to use the links on Bluemoon's history pages as they help fund Bluemoon and the site deserves all the help it can get.

Outside of the UK the hardback book is available via the Book Depository post free.

Finally, I've got a small competition running on my facebook for a copy signed by me. If you're interested in entering follow the details here: https://www.facebook.com/GaryJames4#!/p ... =1&theater

Thanks

Quick update - this week my Mercer biog (kindle edition) has been heavily discounted by the publisher. It's reduced for the rest of this week, but goes up in stages between now and Sunday -

Thanks

I read this a few years ago, really well written and a captivating read.

It must have been quite awhile ago as its only looking at this thread that I've realised Gary wrote the book.

Recommended holiday reading second only to Bert's story.

This version has a bit more content than the original 1993 edition. It includes more on Joe's Everton years, wartime record, all his City stuff has been reviewed and extended and there's a chapter about his legacy. Worth downloading if you want to know about City's glory period of 1965-72 and much more!
