Apologies from captain pedantic but isn't it Mr Jagger who has popped one out?

Yes it was. And a bloody good one, as you say.To be honest, I've never really given it a lot of thought; I just thought it was a bloody good song. Also, I didn't actually say it was about Christmas. I said it was a Christmas single, which it was.
Peter Sinfield said it was about the loss of childhood innocence. Is it a song about Christmas? I've always thought it was about human gullibility.
Christ. I'd forgotten how good that song is.Christ, this is another one...one of the all time greatest love songs. All about finding new love, enjoying it, losing it.The last 4 lines blow my head away.

I second the man hug from another poster. Fanfare for the common man on TOTP got me into them ( I was young). Bought Pictures at an exhibition afterwards, Now love Crimson.RIP Greg Lake. Met him after a gig 11 years ago at a very empty Newcastle City Hall. Had a drink with him and he talked very candidly about his life. A nice humble man. Very generous and kind. His music is what got me started on this life's obsession. His music was the last I heard in before going deaf in one ear and was the music played at the funeral of the baby I lost. A sad year for losses but this to me is my saddest. His music has been there in key moments in my life and every Christmas... I am not sure I believe in Father Christmas anymore...
If memory serves me, I think my first post on here was suggesting Fanfare for the Common Man as the entry music for the team on match day.I second the man hug from another poster.
