Let’s just say that they’re going for “The Poundland Treble” ;-)

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If you tell him what time it was, then it’s easy to re-listen to on the Talk Sport site / app.

Should the club name the stadium after Pep when he goes?

He should get a statue. Like the Collosus of Rhodes … a thousand foot high, stood astride the stadium and illuminated so that it can be seen from space on a clear night …

    FA Cup 4th Round Draw | Tottenham (A) | Fri 26th Jan, 20:00

Liverpool Street is only a few minutes from Shoreditch too. Loads of boozers. Also, Brick Lane too, if you fancy a ‘ruby, me old China’ (did an involuntary little cockney knees-up dance whilst typing that!)

    FA Cup 4th Round Draw | Tottenham (A) | Fri 26th Jan, 20:00

Nearly 9000 Blues there for a Sunday session. A visit to the new ground for the first time for many (me included) , a chance to bury the hoodoo and a bit of revenge for ‘81 and the Chumps League 1/4 final. And a few scoops around Camden Town … it could be worse

    31 | Ederson - 2023/24

Eddie is our best keeper when the defence is on it’s game. They can knock it back with confidence if the opposition press demands it. Let them through, then his shot stopping is good - but there are better, maybe even Ortetta. Overall a City team on it’s game is best with Eddie - it’s not down...

Crystal Palace PL (H) Post match thread

You’re right about the betting - we’re still favourites. It seems people who are willing to back their judgment with hard cash have more faith in us than our own fans do. Mind you, after 50+ years of support I can’t have a go at the pessimists ;-)

    Friday sick club

That was Wednesdays. If you represented your station / unit at football etc you got half a day off work (sometimes a full one for away trips). I often thought it was the nearest thing to being semi-pro. Great times, although by the end of the nineties it was almost gone … so in 2001 I left -...

No thank you. Can you imagine the media hyperbole if the rags and dippers get to the final of the Thursday Night Cup? In Dublin! No way. Let them fade away into the abyss

    Mick Hucknall

I always thought MHIAC, but I have to show him some respect as he was instrumental in releasing some obscure, but classic, dub-reggae albums. For a guy who makes dull music, he has great taste in reggae music. His ‘Blood and Fire’ record label has quite a discography.

How much would someone have to pay you to wear a Utd shirt at the Etihad during the Manchester derby?

I could not be bought. I do not wear anything with red on it on derby day. Petty, I know, but it is who I am.

What is the greatest song ever written?

Any song that speaks of your life and hits the spot is the greatest. When I was 16 it was ‘When You’e Young’ by The Jam. It summed life up … “life is a drink and you get drunk when you’re young”. Now l identify more with the lyrics of ‘Living Too Late” by The Fall … “Sometimes life is like a...

    United Thread - 2023/24

The infamous “not in my lifetime” quote from Ferguson was in answer to the question ‘can you ever see a time when City will start as favourites in the derby?’. Well, we now start every derby, even at the swamp, as favourites! Whatever the result, we are now considered to be far superior to our...
