Peak District Mighty Hike for Macmillan Cancer Support

Hi all, I'm doing the Peak District Mighty Hike in memory of my brother who passed away in November 2021, he received such brilliant support from the Macmillan team and I want to do this as a small way of repaying them. I do appreciate times are tough for many at the moment but, with Ric's...

Deacon Blue Gig at the Apollo tonight, tkts

Hope this doesn't break any forum rules. I have 2 tickets for tonight's gig, can't use them, didn't think I could transfer them at such a late stage but, having checked, it seems I can. Wouldn't like them to go to waste, so if anyone wants them send me a pm and open yourselves a Ticketmaster...

Any garage door fitters on here? Need help re up & over canopy type.

As per title, got 2 new Hormann doors in their own steel frames, am wondering if I may still have to do the spring tensioning, or will they be done and ready to go? Couple other questions but will see if there's any response other than brick it and burn it. cheers in advance.

    Alan Longmuir. RIP

I know for many his passing won't warrant a thread but hearing of it I've found my mind wandering back to the early 70's. I was born in 1960, around the time the Rollers hit the top I was busy trying to get off with girls rather than concentrating on my education, so although their music was...

    The SDP debate.

It's probably 4 or 5 years ago now but I recall a debate breaking out in the cellar with regard to the SDP (sit down piss), there were a good few gents extolling the virtues of the practice at the time, although I don't recall any of their specific reasoning it seemed more of a fad than anything...

    Jimmy Ellis (ZCars) RIP

His was the first Northern Irish accent I ever heard when I saw him in Zcars, I thought he was foreign. Great actor. I can't remember seeing this Bleasdale film before, Ellis plays a blind ex-boxer, but the story seems familiar, looks well worth a watch for the cast alone...

    Lads & knives, why?

Why do these lads feel the need to carry blades, there's not much wrong with a bit of rough & tumble when on a lads holiday but for it to end in such a way is just so fucking sad, what a waste of life. I hope they at least manage to catch the one that stuck him, bound to be cctv'd up don't know...
