Understandable. But just feels like maybe one change too many to me - would go with Bernardo for control and experience/know-how.

Assuming Walker and Ake are both still unavailable: ———————Ederson————- ——-—-Akanji—Dias—Gvardiol— -———-—-Lewis—-Kovacic——- Bernardo—Alvarez—De Bruyne—Doku ————-———-Haaland————- Rotation, but not over the top. Aim to bring off Bernardo, Haaland and De Bruyne as early as possible.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

As I say, he’s very obviously going through a poor spell. But I don’t think he’s been worked out or got too comfortable. I’m not even sure he’s fully fit, though no way of knowing. I don’t believe that the other players will be doubting him at all. In terms of service, I’m sure he’d benefit from...

Tough to pick a team for this. Fair few that I’d want to rest (Rodri, Grealish, Bernardo, Stones …), but not sure we can afford to leave them all out.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

Obviously struggling for form. But also getting limited service. The team last night was never going to create masses of chances. Feeding off scraps.

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

Made a big difference playing further forward in the second half. No surprise he was involved in the goal.

    3 | Ruben Dias - 2023/24

Still way below his previous levels. Laboured on the ball, and defensively off the pace.

    16 | Rodri - 2023/24

Dreadful first half, much better second. Be nice to rest him at the weekend, but not sure we will. Lack of a viable replacement/back up is a real ballache.

Yeah, he was ace. Breath of fresh air.

Poor first half, much better second. Very good result under the circumstances.

Trying our hardest to give them another one

So slow and ponderous. Very little cohesion through midfield and attack. And obviously lacking creativity.

    Real Madrid (A) - Tues 9th April, 20:00 | CL | Pre-Match Thread

Shame that De Bruyne is out, not too keen on having Kovacic in. Feels like we’re an attacking player short. Still more than enough to get a result though.

    Real Madrid (A) - Tues 9th April, 20:00 | CL | Pre-Match Thread

Got to hope Gvardiol is fit, for balance more than anything else. No particular issue with Lewis playing, but probably a risk to have him at right back against Vinicius. Not sure we can afford to have him stepping into midfield, leaving space out wide? Switching him and Akanji might be an...

    The Title Race - 2023/24

Fair play to Arsenal. Written off by most after those two losses in quick succession, but they’ve come back well. Really solid defensively and play some good stuff. Still don’t like them. And Ben White is a massive ****.

Got to think Arsenal will thump Bayern.

    Real Madrid (A) - Tues 9th April, 20:00 | CL | Pre-Match Thread

I’d go: —————-—Ederson———- Akanji-Stones-Dias-Gvardiol ——————-Rodri————— Foden-Bernardo-De Bruyne-Grealish ——————-Haaland————- Don’t particularly want to see Foden shunted back out wide, but would probably start Bernardo in the middle for this. Also depends on Stones’s fitness - was running...
