Heartbreaking moments as a City fan - when your favorite player leaves

Two come to mind. Kinkladze, my hero and I remember how buzzing I was to watch his debut for Ajax in a friendly on Channel 5(?) SWP, seeing him leave Macclesfield Town on SSN was horrible to see. Both at a time where you knew they would not be replaced. Now if a favourite leaves, you’re sad...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

You are right from a business point of view as that is what the mindset of the people who make the decisions, but I just believe it can be do another way, they just choose not to IMO as it’s the easier way as they know we will just accept it as we can’t let go easily and have no competitors to...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

Saying it’s a business is a cop out to justify decisions that are made. Manchester City is not the same business as a Tesco or Nike. Football clubs may be ran in a business way in terms of budgets, incomings, outgoings etc but there is an emotional attachment with the “customers” that no other...

It has everything to do with who he is as he’s out of touch with the local demographics. It’s short term thinking and he won’t be here to pick up the pieces when the shit hits the fan once the success has cooled off.

Ticket Sales Criteria - Real Madrid and FA Cup Semi?

I’m a season ticket holder who’s not been to a CL game this season but will want to go to Madrid. Any season ticket holder not on the CL scheme and any citizen member who have been to a CL game this season should get priority over me IMO. When it gets down to general sale all the North West IP...

Just to put things into perspective. Soriano will be celebrating the release of the new prices with a bottle of wine equivalent to the prices of what loyal long standing fans can no longer afford to pay to watch their beloved team. But it doesn’t matter cos we’re world champions init.

I don’t get the comparison made all the time to other luxury expenditures like theatre, restaurants etc Tickets may be similar in prices at the theatre but people don’t go to the theatre every two weeks because……..they wouldn’t be able to afford it.

I think a walk out is the second best way of protesting after not attending at all. I think a take your seat late protest would cause issues, concourses would be packed and would be a safety issue.

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

Football fans won't do that. On a whole we are selfish which is why we continue to get taken for a ride. Lockdown and no crowds was the time for football fans to grab the game and dictate it how they wanted it to be ran, the product was awful with no crowd in showing how important not only...

    United Thread - 2023/24

When they were dominating in the 90s and 00s and we were flirting between mid table prem and yo-yoing from the championship, I don’t think the gap in quality was as big as it is now. And as long as Pep is here and Onana is playing for them, that gap will get bigger.

I’m a bit of a geek for watching how people celebrate. Doku not even flinching was bemusing. He’s not good enough for us at the moment but he’s 21 and will get better.

And possible not allowed to pay for any transfer fees in installments during that time. Owners should be able to invest in the football club they have bought but for every Sheikh Mansour there are countless bad owners who have put the football club at risk. There has to be a middle ground.

    Wrongful Dismissal and ACAS

You are correct, it is all dependent on what is in the contract as a starting point but employment contracts are usually templates and the statutory standards for a large majority of them, especially in small-medium businesses. The issue here is that the OP is being reasonable and his employer...

Why would anyone extend gardening leave? The employee has set a date to leave. Once that date has been reached neither the employee or employer can extend it.

    Wrongful Dismissal and ACAS

No, first of all, that’s such an extreme hypothetical scenario that I doubt anyone has ever set a 10 year notice period. But I’ll answer your ridiculous hypothetical question, you are still employed until the day you leave whilst working your notice period. If the employer wants to get rid of...
