Bristol City (A) LeagueCup SF 2nd Leg - PreMatch Thread

As a young kid at Wembley watching City beat Newcastle in 76 I’m still from the old school that every trophy matters . Hang your head in shame. ‘ it’s a lesser trophy for me’ .....have you heard yourself , I take it you’re not doing the hard yards to Ashton Gate. Cherry Picker .

    Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread.

Disjointed performance today , for the first time in all the games I’ve been to this season , we actually looked like the away team chasing a game. Sané was the pick of an average bunch who got rolled over too easily. De Bruyne looked overrun without the genius that is David Silva running the...

    January transfer/its quiet Thread

Ive always felt that signing a player in January is a sign of desperation , but obviously the Jesus injury puts a different slant on things . From being ambivalent about Sánchez , it’s starting to make sense . I think the United interest is a ‘ red herring ‘ and nothing more than a spoiler. I...

    Away games in home end

Great stories that bring back old-school memories......like a lot of us, there's too many to remember. My baptism of fire was in '76 , when as a young kid I ended up in the wrong end at Wembley watching Dennis Tueart's act of God. My first feeling of being in a ground that was about to...

Point well made.......puts to bed the clowns who think they know better .

Certainly not sugar coating Naples , I was there for a few days. Its not all a dump, although I'd agree immediately around the station is 3rd world ....there's one or two blues on here belittling other blues who do there own thing as though they make the rules up . I was with some savvy heads...

Just on it again , and I don’t want any Blue getting smartened up , least of all in Naples.....but there were a load of pricks at the game, giving it the big one , protected by the Naples police all day, but getting upset when they were dropped off on the main road in ‘proper Naples’ away from...

Fair comment about the area around the railway station , especially to the sides of the piazza , which is where you get the airport bus . I went to the stadium on the train , leaving Cavour about 45 minutes before the game; train half empty , no mither, got in well before ko .

I did. Naples isn’t the kind of place to be waving flags around thinking nothing will happen. Sad, but true . At some point we might play Besiktas ......same scenario. Eccles and other flags in one of their ends upside down is embarrassing . Generally speaking and at no one in particular...

Cross the river to Testaccio, good bars etc and the remains of AS Roma’s original ground. In Napoli ,I’m not sure about heading for the cruise ship terminal , like last time , if buses aren’t being put on which looks like the case allowing for nothing coming out of City other than passports and...

Yes,went last time . It was one of those trips where you were looking over your shoulder for 2 days and were pretty grateful that the Italian Police were your new best mates . Seems like it’s everyman for himself next week . It is what it is, this is why we do these trips ......bit more edgy...

Cheers mate...... I’m in TOB which I’m half guessing we’re all in , so I’m baffled by the variation of prices for adults .... any thoughts ? Breaks my heart that I’m paying £55 each for me and my teenage daughter , having been told there’s no child prices........the things we do........

The belt dilemna rages on and I for one will be at a disadvantage without one . The last time I went to watch City at Napoli , it was fairly obvious that you could take into the ground any medium sized explosive firework device that suited you . Sit where you want, this is the old school...

    Napoli (A)

I did it at last time with a group of 'chaps' . It is an edgy place to go for football... it's right up there . In your case , going to the game with your wife and young kids , I'd be tempted to make your way to the ground on the metro system and join the escort after the game , i.e.the escort...

    Napoli (A)

Try the Albergo del Golfo Hotel on Via Sedile di Porto. ( look on bookings.com) Stayed there last time we played Napoli . Its no more than 8-10 minutes walk , at best, from the Port area. ( Have a look at google map). Its cheap and cheerful, clean , decent rooms and does a decent...

To be honest, I don't know. I used the organised escort back to the port , getting back well after midnight. I'm guessing the powers that be would put extra trains on but around the ground , even after being kept in for half an hour, it had a touch of the Wild West about it.

It was of those trips where everyone was joking about Kevlar underpants and meeting your maker. Truth is it was ok, if you like a city that has you on your toes and traffic lights are ornamental .The escort to and from the ground was probably the most welcome I've come across. Trouble is it took...
