    Peel Tower & Holcombe Moor

Anyone been up here recently? Planning to go up from Ramsbottom, via Peel Tower & across Holcombe Moor tomorrow. Just wondering if there's a clear path & how muddy it might be?

    Anyone given up coffee?

My gf is absolutely buzzing in the mornings - always smiling & full of beans. How she puts up with me being groggy, dopey & generally half asleep for at least an hour is beyond me. And that's without ale... I just cannot wake up. She says it's because I'm addicted to coffee. She doesn't drink...

    Bring Photo ID with Ticket?

Bought a print-it-yourself ticket for Bournemouth from the club on my season ticket. Notice that the ticket, for my friend, says 'you must bring photo ID with this ticket'. Surely you just scan the barcode & go through?? Anyone had any problems?

Open Spaces for Learning to Drive.

Is there anywhere, ideally south Manchester, where I can teach my daughter the basics of driving? Just want her to get the fundamentals before getting her lessons. Back in the day, I let my sister drive my car around Tesco's car park, but they are either 24 hrs or closed after hours now.

BM meet-up Sat 22nd July, Rain Bar

3pm ko. Anyone fancy this? Had some good ones in the past, put faces to names an all that. & let's face it, life is shit without footie! It's two weeks off so that gives a week for 200 to say they're going, only to bail the week after so we are left with the usual five. Everyone's welcome! Toby...

    Do Petitions Work?

I don't think so. Go on facebook or open your email, & someone is urging you to sign a petition for some (generally) good cause. It's becoming an epidemic. What is the point?! Surely the powers that be do not take any notice! Signing a petition is good only for easing a conscience. Do more...

    Over Crowding at Tram Stops

Wonder when some proper queueing will be introduced at Piccadilly Gardens tram stop on match days? Might be useful, before someone is seriously hurt. Yesterday, there was lots of pushing & shoving when the tram pulled in, & a few people getting agitated. Some jobsworth shouting 'let them get off...

    Last Christmas...

Celtic were singing this & all in all, I thought they were a pretty good bunch. How about 'Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away, This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to David Silva'.

    Big Coat Today!

Was out last night in my designer quilted jacket ('George') - looked damn cool but the effect is ruined when you are shivering - I was bloody frozen! Big coat today! Thick socks too. Anyone take a hot water bottle?

Mancunian Way Shut Monday & Tues

....according to signage last week. It will no doubt be gridlock! If you use it, as I do, get thinking up those late excuses now. And then another one for the day after.... If you are going to use 'terrorist attack', I would save that for Tuesday. Use it on Monday and you've nowhere else to go....

Man rescued from under tons of cheese!

In Shropshire. I thought he was cream-crackered! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/36235940 Not quite as funny as it sounds actually, lucky he isn't brown bread. Bit of a cheesy grin at the end...

    Basil Plant: Another go

Having another go with an Aldi basil plant: I'll let you know how it gets on.... Think I'll keep the plastic wraparound on this time, or failing that, a hot water bottle, to keep it a bit warmer. If thread title gets changed to 'I have purchased a basil plant from a leading discounting...

My basil plant has died, anyone suggest why?

Bought a basil plant from Aldi about a week ago & it has gone from apparent rude health, to a withered dead mess while sat on my windowsill in my new abode. I'm just hoping the water isn't poisoned or I'm being slowly poisoned by carbon monoxide & this is an early warning! In the summer, I kept...

    Decent Holiday Camera?

My daughter is going to Japan with scouts for 3 weeks in July. I want to get her a camera - compact, decent battery life and waterproof: prob about £150. Anyone any good or bad tips?

    Mohawk Radio

Orange Juice (Not the Scottish Band)

I normally get this from Aldi (cheapest) but ran out the other day and got some from the Co-op. Bloody hell! It actually tastes like orange juice! I never realised the Aldi stuff was so bad! Wonder what they put it in!?

    Not Filling Up

I'm leaving my firm of 26 years on Friday to go to a better job & more than likely will be given a card & probably some cash in front of the workforce. I'd like to give a funny, bitingly satirical leaving speech but fear I won't be able to as I'll be crying like a baby. Is it possible to face...

Le Tour de France 2014 - Starting in Yorkshire!

Only one week to go - looking forward to this. We are camping near Grassington, pretty much on the route for day one. Not sure about day 2 yet. Starts Saturday in Leeds. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.letour.com/le-tour/2014/us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...
