I have to say whilst I acknowledge and accept all the justifiable criticism of Pearce I much preferred him to Hughes. IMO they were both equally inept and disastrous but I felt Pearce had more passion for the club. I thought Hughes just couldn't give a fuck... obviously,
You are 100% correct and I agree, but in response to an earlier question @stonerblue ; was it not Bond that sold Asa Hartford, Paul Power and Hinchcliffe to Everton....? Could be wrong there, it was a long long time ago.... 42 years or more ago.... and we've had a few managers in the intervening...
Going back in time but yes.... He was the original Hughes but at least he did manage to get us to a Cup Final.
His son was an absolute cart horse. I remember going to Molinuex in 1982... Kevin Bond was trying to give Big Joe an instruction about what to do with the ball. Big Joe was having none...
What on earth brings you to that conclusion?
Serious question his record wherever he's been has been absolutely dismal. A rubbish style (if you can call it that) of football.
He was a man who was so up himself he'd disappear up his own arsehole.
There is and can be only one Manager that deserved to be sacked before he even took charge of his first game.
Yes, I'm referring to clueless flat arse Hughes.
He just did not have a scooby about football management and this has been confirmed by unmitigated successive failures at Bradford...
Red Eye.... three episodes in and not at all sure about it.
Episode 1 was okay, 2 and 3 got less believable as they went on, will probably stick it out but the word about it right now for me is.... unbelievable and not in a good way.
I worked with the Lino in the United v QPR game(Ceri Richards) for a short while. He never got another game after that, I think it was his howler as the near to play linesman. Very nice guy though.
Well fuck me sideways or my sideboard, I gave up at 2-0 and switched it off.
I should have known they weren't capable of holding on to a 2-0 advantage.
Bollocks I really would have enjoyed watching that!
Just looking at both line ups, I really do fancy City today.... I think a few of these are going to be sufficiently fired up to do some serious damage.... I just hope I haven't spoken too soon.
Fatigue dear chap. Match fatigue and losing on penalties will affect them.
Please don't misunderstand me, that is not what I want but IMO it is an eventuality I fear. In fact I too hope I am wrong.
Apologies if my fears offend you.
WTF you on about.... do you understand the english language and the meaning of words? I've followed this side for 58 years, trust me it will be hard for them to pick themselves up for Chelski. If you cannot see that you need to go to specsavers.
Well played lads, you were by a mile the best team.
I genuinely fear for the rest of our season,,, we're going to be fucked for Chelski ..... and psychologically fucked for the rest of the league season.
Good luck.
All 100% correct. All I will say is the events went brilliantly for us over the weekend and you can say nothing more than that.
But I ask you, whose position would you rather be in right nw, taking into account City's ability to see out the season?
In all our successes I don't think we've ever been in the position to be depending on two other sides dropping points and then (fingers crossed) obliging.
