    City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Genuinely odd. If these guys are scientists getting home early so they can do 20 mins extra in the lab to find a cure for Alzheimer's, they get a pass. If not, what the hell are you doing with that extra 20 mins?

Heartbreaking moments as a City fan - when your favorite player leaves

David Phillips. I'd got a City shirt for my 5th birthday and then got my Grandma to sew a 6 on the back (classy!) as he was my fave player. When he left, fairly inexplicably, a year or so later I was genuinely gutted. In a case of classic kids logic, Reddo became my fave player as he took over...

    Micah Richards the pundit

He win an FA Cup and League title. Was instrumental in the 6-1. Not sure that's an entirely accurate (or genuine!) comparison. Was an excellent RB for us 2008-2012. I can understand why his presentational style might not be to everyone's taste. But he's clearly a blue (he's allowed to still...

People moaning about today's result and performance - we usually lose there. The Centurions lost. The treble winners lost. Pellegrini's title winners lost. 1st half good. 2nd poor. But will take the point all day.

    Atmosphere - 2023/24

Handshakes were something else. Gutted you missed it. ;-)

    Leaving the game early

Once and once only. We were losing 3-0 at home to QPR in 97 (I think). I was 17 and my dad couldn't go that day so I went on my own. When John Spencer (again, I think!). put the third in with about 15 minutes to go, I sacked it off for a quick one in the Sherwood to cheer me up for the walk down...

    Frank Lampard announces retirement

Along with Del Piero, Lampard was my dream City 00s signing...when all we had were dreams. Great to see him play for us even at the end of his career - and he still added value on and off the pitch.

    First Away Game

Cov away 90/91. We got beat 3-1, Allen scored for us. I was 10 or 11; the thing I remember most is the overzealous West Mids police ejecting blues for swearing. I was told this was routine at the time?

    Atmosphere - 2023/24

Some do, but they shouldn't (unless they go to the reds, etc). Sterling part of our 2nd best ever team. Palmer acknowledged the applause too. He can't help being brought up a red as a kid. Was at the club for close to 15 years and scored the goal which effectively won us the Super Cup. He left...

I'd say it's definitely a blue pub after the game.

Omar Berrada to the rags | TLDR: They want to be us.

I kind of see your broad point, but think you are overlooking the impact that the 'Barca boys' have had on Pep and his comfort in our role compared to the tension in his previous roles (Barca had Txixi etc but also a load of politics because of presidential system). Txixi and Ferran become less...

Ex-City Players You Have Rose-Tinted Glasses For

Loved Vonky's goal from the puddle v Ipswich in the game that was abandoned. Gutted when the ref called it off, though not as cheesed off as the raging TC.

One of my least favourite Maine Road memories, awful.

    Terry Phelan's wondergoal v Spurs 1993

Think the Wimbledon game was late in the season...a few weeks after the QF. I was about 13 and, unusually, was in the Main Stand rather than the Kippax (think my dad had picked up freebies) for the Wimbledon game. I remember the atmosphere being mutinous - calls for the heads of Swales, Reid...

    The Title Race - 2023/24

Yeah. You fancy them to see games through even if they havent played well...we've seen that already numerous times this season.

I'm not the one crying, and slagging off individual players, when the current holders of 5 (five) trophies go a goal down against the run of play.

It is, but on balance I'd still scrap it until you get automated offsides - decision within 1.5 secs

Yeah, in real time I thought he was well off. But when you see the replay it was a very, very close call. With VAR (sadly) in place, imagine the pelters if he'd have put his flag up, only to be shown he was marginally on afterwards. No way he could flag that.
