I hate FFP as much as anyone, but can we please stop scapegoating Americans. These clubs would still seek to destroy us regardless of whether or not they had American owners. This is more about power than money.
I do think there's a good chance he will be somewhere else in 5 years. Having said that I completely agree, hard to believe any City fan thinks there is any chance he will be moving this summer.
I wonder if this is a conscious strategy by the club to loan these young goalkeepers for a few years and then sell them on a profit. Curious how it will work out. I hear Steffen is highly rated so its interesting he would choose us considering Ederson's form and age.
Damn I was thinking a good game from him today and he might get his chance at being our first choice right back. Hopefully he is back in time for those post Christmas fixtures.
I think it’s because our other midfielders are so great that when he is compared to them he comes up a little short. But he is a very good player who does a good job for us. Hard to find a better backup player.
I’m of this view that rests are overrated. Players do better when they’re not getting rests and playing every game. If we had bought another defensive midfielder to rotate him with I doubt he’d be performing as well. Plus he has gotten plenty of rest during the international break.
He got in last year as well but I agree he has been snubbed too many times by far lesser players (Lallana, Gerard). I think part of it is his consistently high standards make people ignore him for players who had one great season.
I would bet on it. He's getting more scoring opportunities than he used to and his finishing has improved. Last season he got ten goals (close to his record of 12) and that was despite missing a large chuck of the season dealing with his son.
