    Anzac day

Whilst in the wider world it is principally remembered in terms of the Anzac experience, it is also one of the principal battle honours of the Lancashire Fusiliers who famously won '6 VCs before breakfast' at W Beach in Gallipoli (as well . The museum is well worth a visit to find out more...

Hadn't the effects of the training worn off in the 40 years between that and actually doing the run? Or were you continuously training for 40 years - in which case, respect!

The British Monarchy | Princess of Wales diagnosed with cancer (p396)

How much land do you think they actually own? Note Crown Land doesn't count that is already administered by the Government (so effectively already 'for the good of the people' though your views on that may be coloured by your views of the Government!).

    Russian invasion of Ukraine

Well that's sort of the point. The Republican strategy appears to be focussed solely on 'owning the libs' and everything else, including the people of Ukraine, is subservient to that aim. Incredibly short sighted and shows where the US is at right now.

    Total Eclipse 8/4/2024.

I was on a boat in the Channel in '99. The thing I remember is how quickly it went dark, almost like someone had turned the dimmer switch down, and at totality there was a ring of light on the horizon all the way around the boat. The noise about this one has made me think about making plans to...

Has social media made the UK more right wing?

You are aware that Musk took over Twitter after all those things happened?

Well done, ob. You need to be a bit careful with the pacers, in my experience they can be a fair bit off where they should be.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Yeah, that too. We definitely don't want any Euro-Cats round here.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

The one where: 1) We have complete freedom of movement in the EU but they are forbidden from coming here 2) Any labour shortages due to 1) are not filled from Third-World countries but instead training up the workshy British such that there is a negative unemployment rates as we all have more...

    Corporate Value For Money?

I got tickets in Citizens for the lads 18th birthday and, as it was the second leg of the game against Sporting (where we were already 5-0 up from the first leg), it wasn't really a premium fixture and relatively cheap (around £120 each from memory). Setup was good with a meal, half-time pint...

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

The Daily Mail will view that as a win as they hate cyclists.

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

That's fine - let them believe that it was closer than it was and that they only need a few tweaks to be up there competing with us. Then we can go on enjoying days like yesterday for a long time to come.

Good going, mate - I can only dream of a 38 min 10K! Started my training again for the GMR half marathon today and I'm way off the pace. Notwithstanding that I got a PB last year (1:43 if you must know...) I'd be happy with under 1:50 this year. In my defence, I am a 55 year old FOC.

Don't worry, Vlad is also offering to fill the gaps personally - literally and figuratively
