    Who else is Wembleyed out?

I think it’s more a case of being Wembleyed Out for games that aren't finals. I can understand why people might be giving this one a swerve after an expensive twelve months as a City fan. In 1993, Sheffield Wednesday went to Wembley four times in six weeks. By the time of the FA Cup final...

    Who else is Wembleyed out?

That's basically it in a nutshell. I've been to all six prior semi-finals with fans permitted to attend, but took the decision this time that it's an expensive day out against a team I'm fairly neutral about at a stadium that no longer feels special. It is a competitive game that I want us to...

    Who else is Wembleyed out?

This actually forms part of a larger discussion about just how contrived trophy presentations have become. The old FA Cup lifts felt natural and spontaneous. Nowadays, it's rent-a-podium with fireworks and token jumping around on the balls of your feet when the trophy gets handed over by a suit...

    Who else is Wembleyed out?

Yes, but they can be linked. I know of quite a few City fans who went to Istanbul but aren't even close to paying it off yet. They couldn't afford it but stuck it on plastic because they couldn't live with the thought of missing out. The same applies here - to what extent are people with little...

    Who else is Wembleyed out?

Exactly the same as me. I'm in all three cup schemes and with Real Madrid coming out of the bank next week, something had to give. At a push I could have afforded it, but the day out would have cost £100-150. I'll be honest - I'm a bit Wembleyed out. I've been more than 20 times and decided...

Injuries - 2023/24 | Ederson, De Bruyne, Akanji, Grealish & Nunes all back in training (p138)

It was self-indulgent. Southgate was the only one who cared about last night's result. He couldn't afford consecutive home defeats for the sake of his own reputation. Stones, Rice, Foden and Bellingham should not have been playing last night, but at least the latter three don't have injuries...

Adductor muscle seems to be the belief now circulating online.

I thought the fact he got to his feet so quickly indicated he was fine. The touchline reporter said he was walking perfectly fine to take his place on the bench for the second half.

Question is, how do you get KDB and Foden in the same team and both centrally? Pep doesn't quite fancy it yet.

England v Belgium | Friendly | Match Thread

It's stupid, self-indulgent, hapless and myopic management. Displays all the ineptitude of a Sunday league manager dragged into the job because nobody else will do it. We have managed John Stones very carefully this season for a very good reason. Ledley King was able to have something of a...

Ticket Sales Criteria - Real Madrid and FA Cup Semi?

Overall, a good set of prices. But people in blocks 132 and 140 keep getting screwed by the reclassification of those blocks as being Colin Bell Stand and East Stand respectively. The corresponding corners at the other end of the ground are classed as South Stand and are thus paying £38 if on...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

I think they've calculated it well. They have freed up a small amount of tickets because some disgruntled and less affluent ST holders won't renew. They've irritated a lot more but not to the point that they'll give it up and will forget about it in a few weeks. They've also left a lot of people...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

The store manager at Asda doesn't ask me to create a better atmosphere next time I'm in the shop either. It's reciprocal - the manager cannot demand a good atmosphere if the CEO sees the relationship with the fan as purely transactional.

    Protest?

I always firmly believed in the idea that a football corporation (I'm refraining from using the term 'club' from now on) would adopt the mantra "we'll be there for you in good times so that you're there for us in bad times". I'm not necessarily against price increases per se, and certainly not...

    Protest?

Agree with all of that. I think people need to ditch the notion that any of the Premier League's members are 'clubs'. It's an outdated concept that football has been careful to not yet jettison officially. There have though been plenty who have removed the words "football club" from the club...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

This is the issue I have with the price cap for away fans. People who attend away games are usually high up the pecking order because they can afford home tickets in all competitions. I'd rather it be affordable for home fans. People live round the corner from the ground but cannot afford to...

Season Tickets - 2024/25 | Average increases of 5% despite record profits

Diligent post and hard to argue against. But my point stands - £75 in one go, or 9.5% from 23/24 to 24/25, is a deliberate attempt to either get me to relocate, line their coffers or jack it in so a tourist can take my place. This is twice the increase on the previous 15 years.
