    Relive the Gillingham Play-Off Final

For anyone who's interested, for the Play-Off Final weekend, my book of interviews with the whole squad and manager from the Gillingham game is available for £5 (+p&p). That's half price of what I usually sell for on my site and more than 60% off what it's in bookshops for (if there are any...

    Media Thread - 2021/22

This is absolutely not what I've said. The TL;DR of that thread was that the vast majority of coverage of City is fair, but there are some fans in a race to be offended that will find fault where there is very little to complain about. That's quite a big difference between (as someone on Twitter...

MCFC Fans Foodbank Support - collection before Everton game

No problem! Sadly not at evening games - I actually mis-spoke in that post, it's ahead of weekend home games they collect. So there'll be there for two hours ahead of kick off at any of the weekend kick offs (they pack up 30 mins before kick off so they can get into the game).

MCFC Fans Foodbank Support - collection before Everton game

Yep - the gang are still there and will be there today between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. They collect at the same spot - by the bridge near ASDA on the Etihad side of Alan Turing Way - ahead of Saturday, 3pm home games. :-)

Hello everyone - I'd just like to thank Ric for kindly allowing me more space to promote my own wares! My two City books are available in a combination deal again for Christmas 2021: LOOKS LIKE SCUNNY NEXT SEASON is a series of interviews with all of the Wembley '99 team and the manager...

    City in penalty shoot outs

Been working back through the years to count this up, so here's City's run of competitive penalty shoot-outs in the Premier League era (1992-93 onwards) - the more recent are higher up the list, so it’s going backwards through each season: 2019-20 Community Shield: Liverpool 1-1 City (4-5 pens)...

Question for the 1894 Group, re. Newcastle 1968.

Just to add, I did speak to the City press office in 2018 about trying to do something for @BlueMoonPodcast on the game with the ex-players for the 50th anniversary - but they weren't able to help put me in touch with anybody from that time, even Mike Summerbee and Colin Bell, who I believe were...

New Podcast: Paul Walsh discusses his move to City, why he felt he needed to win over the fans, and why it was the happiest time of his life

I mean, yeah... But that talking point isn't specifically about the record of the last few months... It's about how things have changed from those games last season, where City could play all day and lose narrowly because the defence didn't keep a clean sheet, conceding the only shot they...

    Media Thread 2020/21

Not me chief, sorry. The nearest I can think of is when I did The Sport Social podcast a few years ago and was asked why I thought no City player was nominated for Player of the Season. I offered the possibility that City didn’t have one outstanding player week after week, but rather a team...

My Wembley 99 and Mancini Books on offer for Christmas 2020

Just a bit of a heads-up folks (sorry for the self-promotional spam) - my books on the Mancini era at City and the Wembley 1999 team are on special offer for Christmas 2020. Full price, together they're £22.98, but I've made them £15 (plus postage) on my website if you buy them together...

Lesser known / Quirky records City hold

In a similar vein, the first ever goalkeeper to score from open play was playing for City at the time: At Roker Park, a 3-1 loss to Sunderland in April 1900 - Charlie Williams's long kick downfield was City's only goal of the game.

Unfortunately, he never had this record. Marouane Chamakh scored two goals with a bigger gap in Arsenal's 2-0 win at Wolves in 2010.

Lesser known / Quirky records City hold

No, sorry - I meant that it’s one record. It’s not the biggest PL win and biggest PL defeat, it’s the heaviest goals conceded that’s the same as the most goals scored. I’m explaining it badly, but no team has scored 9 and conceded 9, scored 10 and conceded 10... one team has scored 8 and...

Lesser known / Quirky records City hold

Actually, I lied. I’ve got two more. Short names galore. The fewest number of letters for an assister and a goalscorer in the Premier League is nine: Robinho assisted Jo in City’s 6-0 win over Portsmouth in August 2008. That was also Richard Dunne’s birthday. Birthday goals. Carlos Tevez is...

Lesser known / Quirky records City hold

I love these sorts of things and keep a mental note of potential ones that might make quirky features on @BlueMoonPodcast and that can go on a recent Twitter thread I started. Most of these are Premier League era (I know football wasn’t invented in 1992, but it was 28 years ago so it’s a decent...

Facebook crack down on fake news campaign targeting City

(Sorry for the long post here...) I don't really post too often any more on Blue Moon, but I'd like to just step in here... Hi - I'm David and I produce Blue Moon Podcast. I'll come to the media stuff shortly, but first off I wanted to just address this. Because, in a way, you're right - when...
