There's a pretty good case to be made for not buying players at top price from any of the top English clubs. Why give them money to buy new players? There are more than enough quality foreign players to buy from clubs we are not directly competing with, until we become one of the best in Europe. English players are generally overpriced and not more likely to bring us success than the imports.
He isn't stuck to United he doesn't even support them, but the only way they will sell him is if the Glazers say sorry Fergie he has to go and that will cause absolute fu**ing chaos amongst the fans if it ain't bad enough, so it will never ever happen.

He wouldn't leave to come to another English club...especially not us.
It may be different when Fergie leaves though. All united fans make the presumptuous mistake of thinking the players have a massive respect for their club, the history, the shirt......but all they really respect to any meaningful degree is Fergie. He retires and some nobber like Moyes comes in and they have a bad season and suddenly they're just another club to them.
