His pace over half a pitch is very good, it's just that over a few yards it's only OK. Which again might mean he'd have more joy centrally and slightly further back.

But Pep has a job for him on the wing - his gravity draws opponents over to his side of the pitch and that's what makes the space. He opens up the centre and the other wing - they don't want to congest the middle of the pitch further.

It is strange. Pep clearly sees him a touchline winger rather than an inverted one although almost all the others think in the other way. This topic contributed half of the pages here lol.

This season pep even said himself that he saw Grealish as a typical ten rather than other positions. Weird he never put him in a Bernado role to be a more utilized tool.

Perhaps one day we can ask Pep when he is happy to answer. :)
