Hi guys, we are looking to build on the improving atmosphere and we are already fundraising now for the start of the new season.

We need to get money in by end of june / start of july so that we are able to buy what we need in good time. We want to give Pep an amazing welcome and also we want to spread out the displays right across the south lower and into other blocks.

We feel we are a counter balance to the corporate stuff and cheese that is being put out by the club at times but we also recognise the club gets things right as well as we feel we can provide a voice for City fans – if they support us – it means we can put a view to the club with a stronger voice – representative of the majority.

Fans and banners don’t make noise themselves but they can give us the fans a platform and we can ensure that traditional values of the club are maintained in this new era. We comment on atmosphere related issues – safestanding, ticket prices etc and the displays have allowed us to put forward views on media outlets, locally, nationally and internationally – without affecting the importance or the standing of the official MCFCSC (1949).

We don’t run a membership scheme because we don’t want to be seen as an alternative supporters association to the existing one. But you can be an “1894 Group Supporter” – by that you can make a voluntary donation and you can also mail us anytime – the1894group@yahoo.co.uk – to join our mailing list or simply to send in your ideas for displays. Often we take fans’ ideas and run with them.

So, don’t have thread after thread on here saying the club is losing its’ identity and the atmosphere is not as good as it used to be! Just join us and support what we are trying to do. We are not going away! If you care about the atmosphere why not move to or near south lower. Standing is tolerated here and it’s easier to get things going. We gave fans a chance to move last summer – and the relocation window is upon again. So instead of saying things aren’t loud enough, take the plunge yourselves and join us!

We are expecting the atmosphere to improve again next year – with fans who have seen what we are trying to do moving closer to us. We have the Pep era – so hopefully better, more exciting football and we have fought hard with other groups to bring down the price of away tickets. So we expect more clubs to bring 3,000 next season which in turn will mean more noise and therefore more noise from our fans to counter-act that.

Thanks in advance for your support – The 1894 Team

All the best guys....I hope more people move to join the South Stand singers. For me it would work much better if everyone is together and sing in unison rather than being divided with a big gap in between.

A drum is what is needed to get everyone going together at the same time, but for some reason a lot of people are against it.

But, keep up the good work with the displays lads.

Considering it was the first season grouping like minded fans together it was really good. A great platform to build on. Hopefully a few of the people less interested in singing will move away and the ones who want to get it going come in!
