Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
31 years ago today City's youth team won the FA Youth Cup for the first time, beating Manchester United 3-1 on aggregate. The team that spawned Steve Redmond, Paul Lake, Ian Scott, Paul Moulden, Ian Brightwell, Andy Hinchcliffe and David White - along with 8 other lads guided by Tony Book and Glyn Pardoe.

For one day only you can buy the book Teenage Kicks - the story of the cup win and of each of the 14 lads from that great day up to what each of them are up to today - for just 99p on Kindle

And it is also on offer on Amazon books for just 1p plus postage....

Neither offer will give me a great pension, but will give you a good read!

At the book launch three years ago, Bernard Halford admitted there was 28,000 there - 10,000 more than what was originally given.
There was 20,361 there for the Luton game 5 days later - but again, how do we know that gate wasn't fixed too!

The declared attendance was always bollocks but the Charlton game was that full that from the Kippax you couldn't see any steps in the other stands they were full of fans sat on them.
