Ah. I see. Any research that doesn't support "conventional knowledge" is "borne out of a personal agenda" and can be dismissed as "nonsense".
Conventional knowledge as in actual reality? Yes.
Even if you'd studied law at A-level you'd know that wasn't true. Hell, a quick Google would tell you it isn't true. Women are, generally speaking, treated much more leniently than men in the criminal justice system. This is demonstrable fact.
And as per the other poster's subsequent admission, the example to the contrary isn't even credible research by any measurable standards but simply a "briefing paper", and the author had a clear agenda to find a potential inequality against women given that was the very purpose of the paper.
So yeah, nonsense. My assessment was clearly bang on.
