Album of the day - Lou Reed (Transformer)

A true masterpiece of an album. Reed, Bowie, Flowers and - perhaps especially - Ronson are all at the absolute height of their powers. Lyrically, the album really takes you to a time and place. Bowie's vocals are at times spectacular and juxtapose Reed's voice perfectly.

Funnily enough, I watched the 'Classic Albums' episode about this album at the weekend - well worth watching on catch up, with good interviews from most of the main players.

In short, it's a 10/10 and one of the best albums ever made.

I tried to find that on YouTube but couldn't - hence I saw that concert Malg!

Fewer songs more iconic than Walk On The Wild Side.

I wish that cover version of Perfect Day had never been made, though it was funny given the true meaning of the lyric.

That Andy Carroll shinner at the weekend has obviously had a profound effect on our pet cock-er-nee. I expect normal service to have been resumed by the time of the next AOTD.

Id invent a time machine for the sole purpose of stopping that perfect day cover ever happening
