The Stone Roses is the debut album by English rock band the Stone Roses, released in May 1989 by Silvertone Records. The group recorded most of the album at Battery Studios in London with producer John Leckie. Although The Stone Roses was not an immediate success, its standing improved significantly among most critics, many of whom have since voted it high in polls of the greatest albums of all time.

Well well well, definitely hit a purple patch with these latest albums and what a utter classic this one is! So many inspirational tracks standing the test of time which heavily influenced the likes of Oasis and other great bands, not just this, these sounds capture the heights of mid 80's baggy-rave scene right through to Britpop - Musically and lyrically it is just perfect, Love Ian Browns vocals, John Squire demonstrates why he is one of the greatest guitarists ever, add this to the rhythm section of Reni (Drums) and Mani (Bass) and its just a perfect mix - So many catchy, melodic songs on here and rightfully crowned as one of the best albums ever.

9.8/10

Great album. I did come to it very late I have to admit, one of my boys introduced it to me. The 80’s largely passed me by in a whirl of work, kids, stress and money worries. I love the instrumentation and vocal harmony. Songs are very strong too. It stands at no 29 in the ‘all time’ album charts.
