Boss targets summer move for City starlet

YEOVIL Town manager Terry Skiverton has revealed he would like to sign Manchester City midfielder Andrew Tutte permanently.

The Liverpudlian has been on loan at Huish Park since January, but had seen a regular run in the team hampered by the Glovers having six temporary players.

Football League regulations state you can only name five in a match day squad, but at Oli Johnson back with Norwich City, the 20 year old has been handed another opportunity.

Tutte has impressed Skiverton in 13 appearances, and also played a starring role in last week's friendly victory against Bristol City.

Skiverton said he wanted to sign Tutte permanently at the start of the year, but will now have to wait until next month.

"I would like to sit down with the agent," he said. "We nearly had a deal done before but there were one or two issues regarding the deal, especially with Man City, so it ended up just becoming a loan.

"To be fair, since it became a loan it has probably cost him a little bit more than if he was a contracted player but he is another one that has shown a great attitude.

"He goes out, trains hard and is someone that will definitely play before the end of the season."

If a deal can be brokered, Tutte will follow the footsteps of former Arsenal youngster Luke Ayling, who joined the Glovers permanently last summer after a loan spell.

Before the Easter weekend and the run out at Ashton Gate, Tutte's most recent start came in the 3-1 npower League One defeat at Hartlepool United, four days after helping Yeovil to the Somerset Premier Cup final at Clevedon Town.

Skiverton said Tutte's performances were not to blame for his recent omissions from the team.

"It has just been unfortunate with him, it has nothing to do with his form," he said. "He has done well every time he has played for us.

"The Hartlepool performance was not really good enough for us and there were five or six left out for the next game.

"He was just one of them that was among that group. He did excellently in the week in a reserve team game against Bristol City where he put in a really good performance.

"He was up against Lee Johnson and Cole Skuse, so they were a good pair and they had a very strong team out.

"I was really pleased with the performance and the win we got. It was a game originally arranged for Louis Carey coming back from his fractured skull and it was a really good game. I had a lot of players that did well."
