my ex-pat scottish mate who works for aon in the usa tells me that his entire office was given the afternoon off on wednesday. the downside was that all employees were pressganged into going to watch the derby in their previously issued complimentary rag shirts at a local bar. there was an undercurrent that non-compliance would be a career limiting move.
