Hearts have agreed a deal to take Ashley Smith-Brown on season-long loan from Manchester City, subject to international clearance.


The 21-year-old left wingback will formally join Hearts over the next 72 hours, making him the club’s sixth summer signing.

The Manchester-born defender is a product of the Manchester City youth academy, having joined the club at the age of 10, and has also represented England at various youth levels in recent years.

Ashley spent last season on loan at Dutch outfit NAC Breda and played a key role in helping them secure promotion back to the Eresdivisie.
