Only good thing about that result is it simplifies the rest of the season. First team in the CL matches and rotate for the league once we get to the last 8. Gutted - but is great season so far - despite the clown refereeing

I just think we have to take a serious look at the cups.
I'd go as far as to suggest teams in Europe be excluded from the league cup altogether. Gives something for "smaller" clubs to aim at with a fantastic carrot for the next season (I know it'll never happen due to sponsorship concerns) But just my thought

You're right "smaller" was a poor choice of word - but was placed in quotes for a reason.
At the end of the day it was about trying to potentially avoid too many games for some clubs
