Away fans in home end again

It annoys the fuck out of me every Champions League game. The back half of my block is filled with away fans, right up to the row behind me, and it's very fucking uncomfortable. It's kicked off about four or five times n'all. They shouldn't be there like that every game

Agreed.
There is a difference to going into the home end and keeping a low profile to what is allowed to go on in the champions league - club colours on show/being able to stand up start chanting.
Staggering how this is left to go on with nothing being done Whatsoever.
Seems like showsec only like soft targets.

This is every home game at City I'm talking about, like I say it's ok for everyone to have an opinion, who it doesn't affect,we are paying 870 a season,I'd like to sit amongst my own supporters, wouldn't you ?

And then there's me wanting to sit there for the season and told they were sold out :-/

Well I've had an update,City rang me a few days ago,and are looking into it,if you serious about wanting them,I have enough info to get you the exact details of the seats in question, unless you taking the piss of course ?

There has been a load of crap and hypocrisy posted on this thread.

How the hell are the club going to know who supports who? Do they give everyone a third degree interview who tries to register?

Are City supposed to ban anyone from buying a ticket who has a Merseyside postcode? Just to be safe ban everyone from St Helens, Wigan and Warrington too! What about scousers who live in the Manchester area?

The synthetic outrage from some is beyond belief.

I went to the away Celtic CL match last year. I registered with Celtic and bought a ticket. I have been to Newcastle in the home end and will do so again this season. My daughter lives in Tynemouth and can get tickets without any problems.

Back in the sixties and seventies, I followed City throughout the country before the days of segregation. As long as you steered clear of places like the Stratford End at Old Trafford and the Kop at Liverpool there were no real problems. I appreciate that things went horribly wrong later that led to segregation being introduced.

I tend to think that strict segregation causes as many problems as it solves. It will never be totally effective so get over it.

JGL07 ...... Ditto, I have been in home ends at loads of grounds .... but you go in, no colours and keep your head down. There is a huge difference between that, and selling whole rows and half blocks at times, to groups of away fans that wear colours, chant etc .... which is what people here are complaining about.

If one day it was to kick off big time, the club would take the blame and potential consequences for it.

If they keep to themselves it is fine it is the piss heads who start acting clever when their team scores that fuck everyone off. Liverpool fans did it last season near us and they just got verbally abused until they were escorted out.

So you think it ok for a group of pissed up fans to get in the City end and get abusive

It's not OK for anyone to be abusive. If the away fans are pissed up and abusive throw them out. If it is the City fans who are pissed up and abusive throw them out. The other year I had two away fans a few seats from me who stood for 30 seconds when their team scored and were doing no one any harm. Two City fans who I had not seen before and had presumably had their seats relocated turned around to them and became abusive leading to security moving the away fans for their own safety. Pathetic.

The problem was hundreds of Celtic fans were in the city fans section many drunk and abusive the stewards allowed them to stay manyfans were frightend and upset

If its ok then why do we have any segregation? I dont want any away fans near me or my kids, why is that so difficult to grasp? It increases the likelihood of trouble and makes people edgy. Its really easy for the club to trace the seat owner so let the club deal with it, got nothing to do with post codes.
