Amazed how our new signings pick up serious injuries within a couple of games , Gundogan , Jesus and now Mendy , everytime one of our players goes down injured i fear the worst , Mendy and Kompany being absent for the majority of the season will seriously affect our chances of winning trophies this season , having 50% of our 1st choice back four unavailable is not a great start to the season injury wise.

We only have 17 outfielders including Kompany , Mangala , Toure and with respect Delph.

Yes only 10 start but if you want to go deep into 4 competitions then clearly its high time our academy started producing players ready for first team football on a regular basis.

We are talking about replacements in January when one of our defenders is now gone for the season and its clear we are short of quality in depth in a number of key areas that should have been addressed over the past few windows.

One of two more injuries and we are down to the bear bones again.

If we cannot rely on youth to come in and keep the results ticking over then clearly we need a larger squad to cover the inevitable injuries that will occur on an all too many occasion.

The academy and its relevance to us first team wise is under the microscope well and truly now and if it doesn't produce quality first team players you have to query its existence in the longer term.

Is it wrong to have a little thought in my mind about a certain rag striker getting a muscular injury taking him out for 2 or 3 months ?

Can we recall Angelino?

It's daft if we agree season long loan deals without a clause, such as in case of emergency/injury.

He could defo do a job for us and help with rotation
