I play Elano as CAM in fifa 09. Petrov as LM, SWP as a deep RM, Robinho as LF, and Bojinov as ST. But i also play kompany as lb when i play against united online. Otherwise he is CDM.

this is my line up.....find elano is best playing as foil to striker

getting offers from manyoo/real, etc for him

hows FM ? i prefer fifa because of the game play.

the game rates Vinny rather poorly at present. it also rates Ireland very poorly. i suspect it's because the research for player stats was done a good while ago and doesn't really reflect this season. (as further incriminating evidence it rates Gelson Fernandes as better than Vinny).

while "fm. is not. the real. world" etc they actually do a fair amount of research, so the stats reflect the opinion of researchers who follow their club and watch the player, and aren't (usually) total idiots. it isn't reliable but it isn't completely arbitrary either.

A few versions ago when Kompany was still a teenager he was rated really highly if I remember correctly, turned out to be one of the best players in the game if you picked him up early.

TRUE. before his stint in Germany. there actually was a lot of buzz about him being potentially amazing. they probably downgraded him as a result of that.

for what (little) it's worth i bought him in CM4 for the first time--and played him as a DM.

Where does everyone play Elano in the city team? Playing Robinho and RSC up front. At the min I've got Elano in centre mid, but not sure he's doing particulary well there....

i have played the first half of the season (repeatedly) and i don't allow myself to sign anyone until the January window. i play a 433 and train him as a MC ("accomplished" players can be trained at a position and still improve).

i generally sell him in January as i usually get a huge offer, ask for more, and get about 20 million from Barca. then i play my new mids.

Caicedo is vastly overrated in FM9 i'd say. i sell him anyway, develop Studge and buy Vela.
