best manchester band

[1961_vintage]

10CC. Wrote some great songs, the worst of which was the wonderful "City, Manchester City, we are lads who are playin to win etc etc..." :-)

Love 'The Correct Use of Soap', however Howard Devoto wasn't from Manchester but Lincolnshire, I think. Came here to University or something. Anyway my THREE are Joy Division, The Smiths and The Stone Roses.

Agreed I believe Devoto is from Scunthorpe but studied at Bolton and in general the band were formed and performed with Mcr as their base (Electric Circus/Russell etc), could say the same bout Curtis bein from Macc really if thats the criteria

Current band is the Courteeners. Of all time Oasis, simply the best band that will ever exist. If anyone writes a tune as good as Slide Away in my lifetime I'll be amazed.
