Fascinating piece. It's a pity he couldn't find his own style of work rather than turn for forging the work of others. Clearly a very clever artist but got his just deserts.

It is a weird crime when you think about it. A lot of these guys from what i can see love art but are not paying the bills with lovely pastel water colours of lovely landscapes. Now someone buying a forgery i suggest will gain the same satisfaction from sad forgery as the real thing as is that not what art is for?
I mean it is a crime of sorts i see that but really there are far worse things going on i would like the police to be looking at.
If lord and lady toffnose decide these things are worth 300mil then more fool them.

It wasn't just him either, it was a family operation.
They were the subject of a BBC4 documentary years ago called 'The Artful Codgers'.
One of the funniest things i've ever seen.
