The biggest obstacle for brahim is his position. He is a number 10 naturally, but we dont play with one. He can play wide, but its a waste really as he lacks a little bit of pace/strength (think bernardo). He could play as an 8 but foden is more suited to that role. He needs to bide his time and let his talent shine through. No reason why he cant force his way in, one of the best players at the club, if not the best, in terms of pure natural ability and potential ability. Two footed, quick, technically brilliant, with an eye for goal. Best of all the ball sticks to him like glue.

Imo his obstacle is his final ball & to be more clinical in his finishing. If he can do that, he can play anywhere. He scores plenty but for the number of positions he gets into (often by his own skill) he wastes far too many imo & at his age now, is the time for him to start improving on it.

If he can do that, he can fast track into being a first team squad player, in whatever position in attack.

If he wants to play deeper, he will have to take better care of the ball.

He only had like 4 minutes but he didn't look out of place at all and has shown he has the strength to go toe-to-toe with adult players.

Honestly, I think Pep should fast track him (actually ahead of Foden) because I think Brahim can play the wide role that we are short in. As many people pointed out in Bernardo's thread, he just seems out of place as a RW in our system; he's not fast enough and it's clear his technical qualities and passing range (and lack of finishing ability) makes him more suited as one of the CAMs. Brahim though will run at people and take them on, and he can do it, and his finishing ability is actually pretty decent and improving so I'd like him to rotate with Sane and Sterling in the league.

Didn't do anything wrong last night but needs a bit longer than 4 minutes really. The pleasing thing for me was that he looked a lot less physically out of place than at a similar time last season against Swansea.

Even the few minutes last night would have been such a boost to him. We should be looking to do more of it. No need to force kids into the starting lineup but a few minutes here, few minutes there and all of a sudden our academy kids are seeing a pathway.

Oh definitely. He's clearly grown a lot physically and adapted to it playing as a no.9 for the u23s at 17. Not his natural position, and still only academy football, but it sure as hell teaches you the physical side of the game if your opponents are 3 years older and 7 inches taller.

And yet some people slag Simon Davies off for playing him as a number 9.

Like Pep saud shame we couldnt secure last nights game earlier because both Foden and Diaz would have got many more minutes last night. That said it was great to see them both come on anD actually look at home with the team

Happy days ahead
