Britain First

Maybe we should try to keep them free and tolerant? Every single thing we know about BF is diametrically opposed to such a notion.

Who cares what BF think?

They are unrepresentative of a very large number of UK people who are concerned about large scale immigration and those who don't integrate into UK society.

I share those concerns and would not want to be likened to anyone in BF any more than the vast majority of Muslims would want to be compared to some of the more outspoken and controversial members of that religion like Abu Hamza.

If the BBC is to make programmes about those who have concerns about immigration and related issues, then it would be more useful to interview some of the many ordinary people who have them.

I'm not sure what purpose is served by concentrating on a few fringe people with much less widely held views, but perhaps the BBC does.

you only seem to thinking in terms of the human species as a whole though. yes people are born where ever and you dont choose who you are or what nationality ..... but where your born has a huge impact and more often than not nationality defines who you are and the country you come from. How can you not say culture or the way your brought up defines your nationality. for example i went to china last year the complete opposite way of living and general lifestyle, would you say chinese nationality doesn't exist or there are no differences ?

China is an empire made up of 23 provinces or states, all with different cultural traditions. They even have 2 entirely distinct languages that cover most of those states. Not the best example.

There is such a thing as British...I'm very patriotic to be fair...I'm just not a right wing racist ****
What defining characteristic makes you British? Serious question. Do you fly a flag every day, do you put some steak in the oven at the weekends, what makes you so patriotic. What do you actually do? Curious to know.

i know that, but i was just trying to point out everywhere has there own culture and lifestyle that defines those places and nationality. i was trying to highlight the differences between places and how those differences make them what they are. obviously china has different areas with different cultures, again differences between people.

Nothing really. I'm just proud of our history and culture...the inventions, the art, the industrial revolution...considering we are such a tiny little island we have had a significant impact on the world...not always a positive one granted...but I am proud to be British...nothing wrong with that

So is British a nationality then? Scotland Wales and England have differing cultures and traditions, even if the Welsh and Scots tongues aren't as widely spoken as they once were.

It doesn't matter where you're born. If you stay in 1 place while you're young, your mind is going to get smashed into by the people who live there and culture of those that live there. I don't know what "British" is, but it's real. Nobody would have ended up the same person had they been born and interacted with people somewhere else.

of course it has a baring on what you think and who you are. there is such a thing as british. there are many differences between countries, language, behaviour, culture all things that make Britain what it is. its like saying there is no such thing as being indian or chinese, both countries are vastly different and where you born obviously has a huge impact on the person you are.
You are being racialist

Thank you. Quite proud of that and happy it has been recognised. There is no difference between us or any other human. We're supposed to be a cut above other mammals, and apes. Sometimes I'm not so sure.
