Manchester City look set to sign Bruno Zuculini - the best defensive midfielder in Argentina - for £1.5million next summer.

Zuculini, 20, has been in outstanding form for struggling Racing Club in the first half of the Argentine season, but club president Victor Blanco has confirmed that he has been 'already sold' and will leave in June 2014. The big rumour is that Racing agreed to sell Zuculini to Manchester City when they were in financial trouble - a deal that could be one of the biggest bargains ever struck by the Blues.

The confirmation has come as a huge blow to both Manchester United and Inter who were hoping that they could enter the bidding next summer as 'off the record' comments from Racing Club officials claim City have a watertight agreement for a £1.5m deal. Zuculini is already thought to be worth almost 10 times that and looks an obvious candidate to do well in the Premier League as he possesses pace and strength as well as good technique - plus an ability to win vital headers in both penalty boxes.

The midfielder is still uncapped but could force himself into Alex Sabella's plans for Brazil 2014 if he continues to impress when the Torneo Final starts up after Christmas.

During the summer transfer window, rumors were heard all over ‘El Cilindro’, Argentinean Racing Club’s home, with the news that the citizens were planning to make a bid for the youngest squad leader the history of the team has ever had. With the market closed, all kinds of speculations, of a winter move, are invading the city of Avellaneda, although him or his agent claim to know nothing about the interest of the English side.

A temper that could make him a captain anywhere in the world and a nonstop engine, that allows him to run more than 90 minutes to its full potential, are the most significant aspects of Franco Zuculini’s, former Zaragoza’s player, little brother. Having made his official debut at the age of sixteen, everyone expected to see a future football gem in him, but his first steps weren’t that easy. It’s a commonly advised to make mistakes in order to learn, a phrase that couldn’t fit any better in the midfielder’s description. When he tried to enhance his passing and offensive ability, errors were so frequent that he was relegated from the first team back into the reserves, as he became one of the crowd’s favorite targets to be insulted.

Harsh times made him more mature and several caps with the national youth squad put him face to face with Argentina’s manager at the time, Diego Maradona. This chance was not to be missed and so understood Claudio Yacob’s successor, who won a pile of good reviews from the press, companions and rivals. It wasn’t until Luis Zubeldía, known for the big amount of wonderkids he promotes to the each team’s first squad, arrived to the coach's position at Racing Club during 2012 that Zuculini gained the indispensable starter spot in the squad.

Last season was the defensive midfielder’s best in Argentina’s First Division as he managed to finish as one of the club’s top goalscorers. His wish to improve his passing skills and increase his offensive work rate was accomplished. The 13/14 season was supposed to mean the glory for the 20 year-old footballer, but the team’s awful start, placed in the bottom of the table, and several injuries have delayed his success.

No doubt Bruno Zuculini has what it takes to perform well in the English Premier League, as the pacey and battling player he is, not giving any ball as a loose one. Moreover, with the addition of his constant presence in the rival’s penalty box, all that’s left is to wait for a secure arrival, sometime during 2014, to football’s elite, in the case Manchester City decides not to acquire the South American future star.

You can blow from Manchester City for Hellas Verona. The neo ds Riccardo Bigon, in fact, as told Sky Sport 24,would be studying Bruno Zuculini.Brother of Franco, under the Bologna, has returned from loan to Cordoba and might be the first shot of the new management of market Scala.

Need to loan him out rather than sell him. Honestly think he could be a great prospect given half a chance.

Looked great in pre-season. Very relaxed on the ball.
