This footballing model is pretty much the antithesis of communist theory. It is quite literally taking money from the poor, via the state, and giving it to the super-rich - as a consequence of market forces. Astonishing, really. I don't expect Mao would approve.

to be fair your team was shit that year, he did keep you up no matter if he underachieved the rest of the season. With the strangeness and "legality" of the move hanging over him and Mascherano from the start I don't think it's a surprise, especially considering how homesick he ended up being even at City, must have been really bad for him at the start.

Still can't believe you had those 2 on your books for that brief period, considering what they both went on to.
