I hope that if the PL get round to sanctioning safe standing in England that fans of PL teams engage their brains better than the liver and grey matter addled Celtic fans. After campaigning for so long to get safe standing the numpties strike again and behave like 10 year olds on Export to the point where the club temporarily close the section. Its a shame that this should happen just as the various parties in England were warming to the idea of safe standing.

Large flammable banners are unfurled in all-seated stadia, too, but it takes a certain degree of stupidity to smuggle in distress flares and ignite them from beneath.

The fault is with the club, a highly volatile game like linfield should have had stict security to stop flares getting in and banners should have been baned temperaraly for the game.

Safe standing still required a ticket so why not just ban the fans involved than close section.

It would have also happened if it was all seater imho, you see flares and banners at all seater groungs blaming the safe standing is scapegoating the terrace while ignoring the problem of the still small section of biggoted fans.

Clubs like Celtic and rangers need to now decide to ban the dicks in their fanbase even if it costs them attendance revenue or continie to ignore the problem with tiny gestures like this

The Linfield game is only the more recent of examples; similar problems arose at the last game of the season, a dead rubber, when the emergency services had to be summoned and warnings were issued.
