Champs League Draw

Some quality, if not highly expected comments on here.
I've checked our rivals forums and there is no talk of Das Agenda, De Ajenda or Il Agendero after being grouped with the English PL champions whose squad is one of the best around. ;-)
if they had squad restrictions, and transfer caps,
its possible the word would surface

The draw has zero to do with squad restrictions or transfer caps, so. It sure what you are saying there. Posters, the usual ones at that, are crying foul at a draw that has put us with a team from pot 1, a team from pot 3 and a team from pot 4. That's as simple same draw is and it's a nailed on guarantee that none of the sides we have been grouped with would want to be in a group with us. I wonder if those three clubs have a group of curtain twitching fans, constantly looking over their shoulder for the next conspiracy? I very much doubt it, not where something as simple as a draw for a competition is concerned anyhow.

we played them plenty of times. lets beat Bayern, home and away. come on lads. we can do this.

Agreed but as it's only the group stage and I think that we can piss upon Roma I'd prioritise the Arsenal & Chelsea games.

Why we don't have B list? I thought you can have players over the limit who DOESN'T need to be registered and Nastasic is classified as U21 player but still not even on B list? Strange for me. I know Sagna can play CB at emergency but still bit risky going in CL with 3 CBs imo.

A-list
max. 25 players
atleast 8 have to be locally trained or association trained (atleast 36 months between age 15 and 21 in the club or the league no matter what nationality)

B-list extra
born 1993 or later
in the club more than 2 seasons

------------

Nastasic's transfer date was August 31st (tell me if I am wrong but that is what transfermarkt tells me) and not 1st of July... 2012. So it is probably not two full seasons.

Höjbjerg (for Bayern) has not been on the B-list last season and had a spot on the A-list. This year he is on the B-list. His transfer date is 1st of July.

When I look onto your squad... Boyota is the fourth that is a home or association trained player, or? Apart from Lampard, Milner and Hart?

Now you know why the transfer sums for English players are that high...

---------------

About the seeding system - I do not know if you should really like it. The German clubs (apart from Bayern) do not really like it. This keeps them to pot 2 and 3 without much chance to get to pot 1 no matter how your performance for years is - there will always be the russian, french and portuguese champion taking your spot. It simply means that when before 3 English and 3 Spanish clubs have been in pot 1 now 2 english and 2 spanish clubs will be in pot 2. If Chelsea would have been Champion - and not you - you would be in pot 3 - and that would have meant that you had big chances to get e.g. a combination of Barcelona and Bayern - or Dortmund and Real/Athletico into your group...

What would have been the difference...

makes it more fun for everyone if the groups are more varied and tougher, makes it a proper competition. Also would make it more for if the other champions were put in Pot 2, really makes it favourable for all champions then regarding TV regs, and also makes Pot 3 & 4 really exciting at the end as you could draw a big team at the death.

and yet if you get drawn with Barcelona, Zenit & Roma, which would be equally as hard as the one you have been drawn in this year, people will still be claiming "fix!"
for one, i wouldn't
what you and your fellow sneerers don't realise is, that a lot of posters would like to go some where different than Munich and Moscow again

Personally I'd love Barca next week, St Petersburg in October and a trip to Rome in December.
All of them are far preferable than a wet and windy afternoon in the godforsaken hole that is Oldham

Yeah, of course you would.

As for the Oldham comparison, well yeah. I agree.

of course, the omnipotent hurrikeen would know exactly what I'm thinking and also what my future plans are
your magnificence overwhelms us

Barcelona in September would mean a few days of tapas and the beach in the Autumnal sun
St Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe steeped in history and a must see
Rome, is well Rome, where round every street corner you happen across ancient history, complete with huge piazzas flanked with cafes and gorgeous women
