Obviously I don’t know.

But I think him completely making it up or misrepresenting something that was said to him lightheartedly, are both more likely than what he’s claiming.

I’ve always thought with the predominance of referees from the North, there was a widespread ’unconscious bias’ towards the big clubs especially those in the North West and much less obvious bias towards London based clubs with mine being the most obvious example of being on the wrong end of decisions.
