I used to sell white goods and the combo machines were always breaking down. If you have room for separates then go for that always.
We treated ourselves to Miele washer and separate td some years ago - I used to live round the corner from the factory and their employees always bought Miele which is a pretty good recommendation. Cost an arm and a leg but they just last forever.
