Crazy decisions of years gone by.

I’d love to know the story with this one - did Walsh want to leave or something?
I think ball was thinking his legs had gone as he only played 3 games out of about 11 or 12 at the start of the 95/96 season, there was no whispers of him being unhappy but in hindsight it might have had legs as we got him from pompey and he returned to pompey. I think he did his cruciate towards the end of the season and retired not long after, he was 34 at the time though.
But creaney was awful, I always remember when we got shut of him he turned round and his first words was "not many strikers can say they scored at st James park, Highbury and elland road..."
I still cringe at the lame comment even today.
 
We were very direct - but he did have Quinn up front to aim to

5th and 9th though.....compared to what happened next....?
