To be fair it must be pretty gutting to have it turn out like that, he/she probably knows it didn't turn out great but what can you do but say "tadaaa" and hope for the best?

I don't know anything about sculpture but surely the mould for the final casting needs to look like the person it is supposed to be so the sculptor should see it is wide of the mark earlier in the process.
