Manchester City are rivalling Manchester United and Arsenal for Valenciennes teenage defender Dayot Upamecano.

The 16-year-old almost joined United in the January transfer window only for him to opt to stay in France for a few more months.

Centre-back Umecano has played for France at U16 and U17 level.

Fourth-placed City face Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Manchester City are moving for Valenciennes defender Dayot Upamecano.

The youngster has been linked with Manchester United and was expected to move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

However, Foot Mercato says City have come forward and opened talks with VA for Upamecano.

It's suggested negotiations are already at an advanced stage for the 17 year-old stopper.
