Diving bans approved

Will it also work the other way around? For example if a player gets booked for a dive, which wasn't one, will the yellow card be nullified retrospectively?
No. But referees will just bottle showing yellows for dives if it's being dealt with retrospectively.

also just heard that the yellow card by the ref in the game save anymore punishment and the panel can not look at it also the ref match report is key if he says he seen it and did not think it was a dive again the panel can not use the video. this is going to be the key to united players getting away with it and SKY and BT will make a case for anything other than for united players. the video angels slow motion they will use will also and again sky and bt hold all the cards here

its going to be use for all the wrong thing and players at a club that play in red can still do what they like and dare any ref to stand up them

Just watched fat Sam's reaction to it all and he has it spot on imo.

The panel selection will tell you everything you need to know about this from day one.
Lets say ex player is terry butcher and ex manager is graeme souness (or other way round) . I couldnt see those two falling for any bullshit dives or pissing about like players pretending they have trodden on a landmine or have taken a right hook from anthony joshua.
On the otherhand if they select someone who has just retired and could hide behind a pool cue and has been throwing himself to ground under managers orders. Then we might aswell not bother because nothing will change.

Fat Sam has it right. Once again the FA goes about something in completley the wrong way. Can guarantee English media darlings that dive like Alli or Rashford won't receive a single ban.

Worried about this and even more so about the idea of sin bins. Open to abuse and do you honestly think they will ban Rooney, Hazard etc for diving. Yet we should have a penalty, its not given despite being nailed on, and we will pick up a ban for diving also

Open to so much abuse. Media witch hunts with Sky, BT and MotD setting the agenda is almost a certainty.

Plus, although these bans are a detriment to the team that suffers them, the team that was cheated doesn't necessarily gain anything and in fact might be at a disadvantage because the banned player might miss a game against the cheated team's rivals. Full of holes and I don't trust it will work to anything but our disadvantage.

I get the mistrust. But surely it's a step in the right direction - if you get a 3 match ban for diving why would you as a player take that risk ? It's a very good punishment. A yellow or a 10 min sin bin as Sam suggested isn't. Plus the fact some decisions take time to come to a conclusion, if a video ref only has one or two angles this will delay the game - we've seen how pundits have argued whether it was a dive or not, yes like anything in sport there will be mistakes and uproar - but a retrospective ban is something I've called for a long time.
