Each Manager's Worst Signing

Reid - Vonk, memory bit fuzzy back this far, Can only remember Reid signing Curle, Phelan and Vonk. The other 2 were good, albeit expensive, so Vonk.

Horton - Kernaghan, not totally awful - Horton had a decent record in the transfer market. Shouldn't have been sacked

Ball - Creaney, did we sign him from the pub down the road?

Clark - Lee B(r)adbu(r)y, infamous record signing

Royle - Charvet, craaaap

Keegan - Danny fuckin Mills, overpriced on a free.

Pearce - Samaras, looked a good player early on but ended up being 6m wasted at a time we couldn't really afford it.

Sven - Bianchi, 9m and didn't deliver.

Hughes - Santa Cruz, chased him for ages despite it being obvious he was a crock. 17m and basically never played for us

Mancini - Boateng, the signing itself was obviously a good one but was used poorly

Pellegrini - Mangala + Bony, can'tr leave either out, 65+m on shite we can't get rid of

Pep - Bravo, made sense as a signing but clearly hasn't worked out

Pep - Bravo

Hmm somebody wanting to be so controversial they named a certain player twice.

Royle - Charvet

Keegan - where to start. I'll say Seaman. The only player to retire mid-season

Pearce - got to be Samaras. He bet the house on him and lost. He also put a slow, tall, right footer on the left wing!

Sven - Castillo. Thank goodness he only came on loan and we didn't buy him a few months earlier

Hughes - Santa Cruz

Mancini - Rodwell

Pelligrini - Bony

Guardiola - Nolito. Started well but looks like leaving on loan. At least Bravo will still be here

You forget Coppell - McGoldrick (also his best signing mind you)

Allison - Rodney Marsh

Off the top of my head
Pearce - Samaras
Sven - Castillo
Hughes - Santa Cruz
Mancini - Maicon
Pellegrini -Bony
Pep - Nolito (bravo seems to be staying for now so can't fully judge yet)

Fair play - this is subjective after all - for me Balotelli was a huge distraction/problem disrupting our entire squad - his occasional on the field brilliance did not at all compensate for his downsides.

Again subjective - Balo - did some good - but did far more damage - and thus was the worse signing for me under Mancini.
He didn't disrupt the squad, he was actually a popular member of the dressing room.

Led the line superbly in the FA Cup semi-final against the rags in Tevez's absence, then MOTM in the Final, pivotal figure in the 6-1, then in the title season crucial goals against Sunderland to rescue a point, winning and scoring that last minute pen against Spurs and of course the assist for the 93:20. Sure he had some disciplinary issues as with any player like that but overall he made a positive contribution.
